Print WELCOME big, one letter per page
Each letter 8 in tall · whole word about 52 in (4.3 ft) wide · 8 sheets + 1 checklist page
Print at 100% (Actual size). Measure the ruler on page 1 — it should be exactly 1 inch. If it's smaller, turn off "Fit to page" in the print dialog.
How big should bulletin board letters be?
For a standard 3 × 4 ft classroom board, 6 to 8 inch letters are readable from the back of the room and still leave space for student work. A title across a hallway wall or a door looks right at 10 to 12 inches. Small labels for centers and cubbies work at 4 inches.
Not sure? Switch to “whole word width” and type the width of your board minus a few inches. The PDF picks the letter height for you.
Save ink and cutting time
Print outline letters on colored cardstock instead of printing solid color on white paper. You use almost no ink and the letters already match your board. Bubble letters are also quick to cut: there are no sharp inside corners, so you can cut around each one in a single pass.
Letters taller than a sheet of paper are split across pages with overlap marks. Line up the marks, tape the back, then cut.
