Making a happy birthday banner
Pick the letter height, choose letter or A4 paper, and download the PDF. Each letter is on its own page, so you can print them on different colors of cardstock, cut them out, and punch two holes at the top of each to string them on ribbon. At 8 inches tall, HAPPY BIRTHDAY is about 8 feet long.
Drawing it on a card
Write HAPPY on top and BIRTHDAY underneath, centered. Start with light stick letters and leave a gap between them about as wide as your marker, since the puffy outline fills that gap. Two lines fit a folded card much better than one long line.
